The Legislative Committee shall meet regularly to examine existing, Local, State and National legislation affecting the home building industry. It shall determine which of this legislation is obsolete or obstructive; make recommendations and take necessary steps to implement its recommendations.

The Legislative Committee meets regularly with the ILLOWA Council to form strong bonds and promote an environment of inclusion with our inspector partners.

The Legislative Committee supports National and State interests on legislative issues affecting our industry.

The Legislative Committee is a resource for our members to keep them informed of changes or proposals in legislation that could affect the building and remodeling industry.

Volatility Continues as Lumber Prices Normalize

The prices of building materials decreased 0.3% in November (not seasonally adjusted) following 0.5% and 0.1% declines in September and October, respectively, according to the latest Producer Price Index (PPI) report. The index has decreased five of six months for the first time since 2015.
