Student Built Home Program

The Student Built Home Program is an exciting and rewarding partnership between the instructors, the students, and the community. There are 2 local programs – North Scott High School and the Davenport High Schools. Each fall students who have taken previous construction classes have the opportunity to actually BUILD A HOUSE – with the instruction and supervision of instructors and volunteers from the building/construction industry. These students work on this house every day until it’s completion in May. He houses are sold and the pride the students have, along with their instructors is priceless. The Quad Cities Builders and Remodelers Association supports these kids and this program by attending committee meetings, finding members to volunteer their service and expertise and by donating over $15k in scholarships to both programs. The Quad City Realtors Association is also a partner with the Davenport Schools, and they support these students with scholarships as well – it really is a group effort but the reward is worth everything.
